A taste of Greece

Today we want to tell you a bit about our internship at the Cronwell Platamon Resort. This week we are working in the main restaurant, and it has been an incredible experience so far. The restaurant is very spacious and bright, as you can see. The buffet area is the heart of the restaurant, where we serve all the delicious food. The wooden tables and chairs create a cozy atmosphere where guests can relax and enjoy their meals 🥙

Greek kitchen is all about fresh, local ingredients: olive oil, vegetables, feta cheese, and aromatic herbs 🌿🌱. At the hotel, guests can try traditional dishes and a huge variety of fresh food. Our breakfast buffet includes everything from different types of bread cakes to a wide selection of cheeses 🧀 and cold cuts and many other dishes.

We also make sure to display allergen information clearly to keep everyone safe.

After work, we also find time to explore and shop! Today we went out to buy some souvenirs. There were so many pretty things to choose from, but we couldn't resist the jewellery. We actually bought ourselves some bracelets and necklaces.

We also want to share a delicious sweet recipe with you 🍬. The Famous Greek "Jellies", called Loukoumi, are a traditional Greek treat. They are soft, chewy, and very sweet - perfect with a cup of Greek coffee!

Ingredients: 4 cups sugar, 1 cup cornstarch, 2 cups water, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1/2 cup water (to mix with starch), food coloring, rose or lemon extract, and plenty of powdered sugar mixed with cornstarch for coating.

Instructions: Boil sugar and 2 cups of water to create a syrup. Mix cornstarch with 1/2 cup of water and slowly whisk it into the boiling syrup. Add lemon juice and simmer on low heat for about 20–30 minutes, stirring constantly until thick and translucent. Stir in your flavoring and coloring. Pour into a lined tray and let it set for several hours (or overnight). Once firm, cut into cubes and toss them in a bowl of powdered sugar and cornstarch until heavily coated.
