On Sunday, we spent a calm and relaxing day at the hotel because the weather was cloudy. Everyone spent time with their roommates, talking, listening to music, and relaxing together indoors. Even though we stayed inside, we had a really nice time together.
Since we are in Greece, we would also like to share a traditional Greek
baklava recipe. Baklava is a sweet dessert made with layers of phyllo
pastry, nuts, butter, and syrup.
It tastes delicious
with tea or coffee.
Ingredients:
-500 g phyllo pastry
-300 g chopped walnuts
-1 teaspoon cinnamon
-250 g melted butter
Syrup:
-300 g sugar
-200 ml water
-2 tablespoons honey
Preparation: Layer the phyllo pastry in a buttered baking tray, brushing each layer with melted butter. Add chopped walnuts mixed with cinnamon between some layers. Finish with several pastry layers on top, cut the baklava into pieces, and bake at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden brown. To make the syrup, boil sugar, water, and honey for a few minutes, then pour it over the warm baklava. Leave it to soak before serving.
