Let's go on a cruise!

Today we got up early for a full-day trip to Skiathos. After reaching the port, we boarded a boat and set off on a cruise across the Aegean Sea. The weather was warm and sunny, which made the journey even more enjoyable. 

 

Our first stop was the town of Skiathos. We wandered along its narrow streets and made our way up to a viewpoint terrace, where we could look over the harbor and the white buildings below. Once we got to the top, we had some free time to explore and just enjoy the place in our own way. 

                     

 Later, we took a boat to a nearby island and stopped at a beautiful beach. The bright sand and calm water were just what we needed after several busy days of our internship. Most of us went for a swim, relaxed in the sun, or took photos of the views. On the way back, we had the highlight of the day: a group of dolphins appeared near the ship. They swam beside us for a short time and sometimes jumped out of the water. It was a surprising and memorable moment for everyone.

Another day of the Greek adventure 🇬🇷✨

We continue our Erasmus+ journey, gaining experience while working in a local tourist office in Nei Pori . However, this day turned out to be a bit different than expected. Due to a power outage in the town, we had to adapt quickly and continue our tasks online from the hotel . Despite the unexpected situation, we managed to stay focused and complete our work successfully  

 

After finishing our duties, the group spent the afternoon relaxing and exploring our temporary hometown, Platamonas . We enjoyed a peaceful walk around the area, taking in the seaside views and the warm atmosphere of the place. Of course, no day in Greece would be complete without tasting local food – this time we treated themselves to a delicious gyros pita , which quickly became one of our favorite meals.  

 

To end the day on a unique note, we even had a surprising encounter with a little bunny on the beach , making the whole experience even more memorable.

What to eat in Greece?

This plate is a perfect example of the Greek "barbecue culture." What you see here is paidakia (lamb chops), seasoned with the golden trio of Greek cooking: olive oil, lemon, and dried oregano. In Greece, fries are a staple served with almost every meat dish. Accompanied by seasoned rice and a crisp cabbage salad, it creates a balanced, filling meal designed for a long, relaxed lunch. The squeeze of fresh lemon over grilled meat isn't just for flavor—it helps cut through the richness of the fat, making every bite feel light and zesty.

Mussels (mydia) are usually steamed with garlic, onions, and a splash of white wine or ouzo. It’s the simple preparation that lets the freshness of the seafood shine.

Tzatziki is a creamy white sauce, which is the undisputed king of Greek appetizers. Made with thick strained yogurt, cucumber, and a generous amount of garlic, it’s the ultimate refreshing dip. 

Lemon potatoes are slow-roasted with lemon juice and herbs until they are buttery and full of flavor.

Greek food is rarely about complicated techniques. Instead, it relies on high-quality ingredients: sun-drenched vegetables, fragrant herbs, and world-class olive oil. Whether it’s a mountain village or a seaside town, the philosophy remains the same: keep it simple, keep it fresh, and always leave room for a conversation over the meal.

A day in the life of hotel staff

In the morning, we went to the hotel where we are doing our internship. Cronwell Platamon Resort is a 5‑star all‑inclusive resort in Platamonas, just a few steps from the Aegean Sea. There are 180 rooms and suites, splash park, several pools, a private sandy beach, a spacious SPA center and a huge restaurant where we help with  serving breakfast to guests . It’s a great opportunity for us to learn more about the hospitality industry, improve our communication skills, and gain practical experience in an international environment. 

 

After work, we decided to relax and went for a walk around the center of Platamonas .  We enjoyed the atmosphere of the town and admired the beautiful views — the sea, the mountains, and the charming streets made everything feel calm and special

 

Days like this remind us how valuable this experience is, not only for our future careers but also for the memories we are creating together

Kalimera on Sunday!

 

Today, the students participating in the Erasmus Plus programme focused on experiencing local culture and everyday life in Greece. One of the highlights of the day was tasting traditional Greek food, especially gyros, which many students have eaten for the first time.

 

While walking around the town, the students noticed that there are many stray dogs and cats in the area. All of them seemed very friendly and calm. They often walked with us around the town and even followed us back to the hotel, which was a very nice and interesting experience. Ms. Kochman from Greek Culture & Education assured us that these animals are fed and looked after by the municipality and local citizens. 

 

The group also spent some time buying souvenirs, looking for small gifts and keepsakes to remember their stay in Greece.

 

 

It was a relaxing day full of new tastes, interesting observations, and local experiences.

A Sunny Saturday

Today was a day we all needed after an intense and demanding week of work. 

We started the morning with a delicious breakfast and then headed to the beach. 

 

We spent time relaxing on the sand, sunbathing and swimming in the sea, enjoying the beautiful weather. 

Later, we went to the city center, strolling slowly and visiting small shops to pick out souvenirs that will remind us of this special time. We also tried some regional dishes.

 

In the evening we met to fill in our internship journals. We also sang happy birthday to Marcel who turned 18 today!

Days like this are exactly what we need after a busy and demanding week.
